Changelog
What's new in TidyFile
TidyFile updates itself in the background, so you always have the latest version. Here's what's changed.
2.3 · Faster first tidy, no-card trial and invites
October 2026
- On first launch TidyFile looks at your Downloads folder and suggests rules with real counts, like “Invoices & receipts: 4 files”. One click previews them on your files.
- The free trial no longer needs a card. Add one any time before it ends to keep going.
- Reminders before your trial ends, in the app and as notifications.
- Give a month, get a month: invite friends from the Account page.
- Share your before & after after a big tidy.
- Mac installers (.dmg, .pkg) count as installers in rules.
2.2 · TidyFile for Mac
October 2026
- TidyFile now runs on Macs with Apple silicon and Intel (macOS 10.15 or later).
- Mac-native wording and behaviour: Trash, the menu bar, Open at login.
- Rules made on a Windows PC work on a Mac and the other way round.
- A new app icon and look.
- Fixed off-centre switches and the ready-made rule cards.
2.1 · Try before you buy
October 2026
- Add rules and preview what they'd do to your files before creating an account.
- Sign in with Google.
- Prices in pounds or dollars, depending on where you are.
- If a renewal payment fails, TidyFile keeps working for 7 days while it retries.
- A running count of how many files TidyFile has tidied for you.
2.0 · A complete redesign
October 2026
- A new, simpler interface built around rules and profiles.
- Tidy existing files with a full preview, and undo any move from the activity log.
- Rules that match type, name, size and age, with AND / OR.
- Starts with your computer and runs quietly in the background.
