Terms of Service
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Cyde Enterprises (“we”, “us”), the maker of TidyFile. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you're using TidyFile for a business, you agree on its behalf.
1. What TidyFile does
TidyFile is a desktop app that moves, renames, tags and recycles files on your computer according to rules you create. It works locally: your files aren't uploaded to us. See the Privacy Policy for what we do store.
2. Your account
You need an account to subscribe. Keep your sign-in details safe and give us an email address you can receive mail at; we use it for receipts, billing problems and important changes. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Free trial
New customers get one 7-day free trial, started from inside the app. No payment card is needed to start it. To keep using TidyFile after the trial, add a card and choose a plan before it ends; you're charged from the end of the trial. If you don't, the trial ends, sorting stops and nothing is charged. We may refuse a second trial to the same person.
4. Subscriptions and payment
TidyFile Standard costs £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year (or the amount shown in your currency at checkout), including any VAT that applies. Payments are taken by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
If a renewal payment fails, the app keeps working for 7 days while Stripe retries your card. After that, automatic sorting stops until the payment goes through. Your rules are kept.
If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage subscription in the app, or from the billing portal. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
6. Refunds
If you're charged and TidyFile isn't working for you, email help@backpocket.pro within 7 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full. After that, payments for the current period aren't refunded, but cancelling stops future payments. This doesn't affect your statutory rights; under UK law you can still get a remedy if the app is faulty or not as described.
7. Your files and backups
TidyFile does what your rules tell it to. Before tidying existing files it shows a preview, the activity log lets you undo moves and renames, and “delete” sends files to the Recycle Bin (or Trash on a Mac) rather than erasing them. Even so:
- Check your rules and the preview before applying them.
- Keep backups of anything important, as you would with any software that changes files.
- Files removed from the Recycle Bin or Trash, or changed by other programs afterwards, can't be restored by TidyFile.
8. Your licence
While your trial or subscription is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use TidyFile on computers you own or control. You may not resell it, reverse engineer it (except where the law allows), remove its licence checks, or use it to break the law or harm others.
9. Updates and availability
The app updates itself so you get fixes and improvements. We work to keep TidyFile and its sign-in and billing services available, but we can't promise they'll never be interrupted. Sorting runs on your computer and keeps working for a while if our servers are briefly unreachable.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses (if you use TidyFile for work), or for loss of files that a backup would have prevented. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using TidyFile and delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where it's reasonable to. If we ever stop offering TidyFile, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused part of a prepaid subscription.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that affect you materially, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep the protections of your local consumer law and can bring claims in your local courts.
