TidyFile for Mac
The file organizer
your Mac was missing.
Downloads, Desktop and screenshots sorted into the right folders automatically, from a tiny menu bar app. Set your rules once, preview every change, undo anything.

Made for the Mac.
Lives in the menu bar
TidyFile opens at login and works quietly in the background. Close the window and it keeps sorting.
Screenshots, handled
Send every “Screenshot …” off your Desktop into dated folders the moment you take it.
Safe by default
See exactly where each file will go first. Moves can be undone, and deletes go to the Trash, never straight to gone.
Apple silicon and Intel
Native builds for M-series and Intel Macs, macOS 10.15 or later.
Your files stay on your Mac
All sorting happens locally. Nothing is uploaded, ever.
Also on Windows
One subscription covers both, and rules made on a PC work on your Mac.
Up and running in two minutes
- 1
Download and drag to Applications
Open the .dmg and drag TidyFile into your Applications folder.
- 2
Allow it once
If macOS says it can't check the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.
- 3
Pick your rules
TidyFile looks at your Downloads and suggests rules with real numbers. Preview, then tidy.
